Translations

(Etheridge) We give diligence, that whether we are pilgrims or inhabitants, we may be pleasing unto Him.

(Murdock) We are assiduous, that whether we are absent, or whether at home, we may please him.

(Lamsa) Wherefore we endeavor, that, whether present or absent, we may be pleasing to him.

(KJV) Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
