Translations

(Etheridge) and the ship was carried away, and could not stand against the wind, and we gave her into its hand.

(Murdock) And the ship was whirled about by the wind, and could not keep head to it; and we resigned [the ship] to its power.

(Lamsa) And when the ship was caught, and could not bear against the wind, we let her drive.

(KJV) And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
