Translations

(Etheridge) But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that he should release to them Bar-aba, that they might destroy Jeshu.

(Murdock) But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitude that they should demand Bar Abas, and destroy Jesus.

(Lamsa) But the high priests and the elders urged the people to ask for Bar-Abbas, and to destroy Jesus.

(KJV) But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
